Big Love: A Losing Battle

After a great first season of plenty of issues around the Henricksons’ polygamy yet the creation of a real and very relatable family, they can’t hide from the world any longer.

The second season of HBO’s Big Love began where it left off with Barb‘s Mother of the Year nomination going down in flames with a disqualification because of a phone call revealing her involvement in polygamy. Now in season two, Bill is determined to get to the bottom of it. I’m not quite sure why he isn’t thinking of his guilty father-in-law, Roman Grant, who was threatening his business all first season.

Within the first two episodes, Barb almost left the family all-together, Bill’s business is being attacked via billboard, his brother is heading to jail for his wife’s mistake, and the family is losing more and more ground on their fight against discovery and discrimination both socially and legally.

And I thought the wives on Desperate Housewives had troubles! It looks like there’s only more trouble on the way for this “unique” family. My guess is Barb isn’t quite as “back” as she seems, and the issues with Roman are about to truly explode.

Check out the Henricksons’ fascinating story on HBO Mondays at 9/8c.
