Rescue Me Enters Smokin’ Hot Fourth Season

Rescue Me

FX network’s TV show “Rescue Me” kicked off its fourth season this past week, and the show still packs a punch. The beauty of cable television is its ability to push the envelope, and never has that envelope been pushed (smacked and beaten up) as much as in “Rescue Me.”

Set in New York City post 9/11, “Rescue Me” is led by veteran funnyman actor Denis Leary, who plays firefighter Tommy Gavin, and has included such notable actors as Marisa Tomei, Susan Sarandon, and currently, Tatum O’Neal, in recurring roles.

This show is not for the faint of heart, prudes or anyone who objects to violence and foul language. It’s not politically correct. Sometimes it’s even downright disturbing. But it makes you think, laugh, and occasionally yell at the characters on TV.

It’s about people, warts and all, and doesn’t glamorize anything—not firefighting, not family, not love, and certainly not life post 9/11.

“Rescue Me” is airing a repeat of the fourth season premiere episode on Sunday at 10/9c, with new episodes airing every Wednesday evening at 10/9c.
