Gilmore Girls: Finale

Though the ending with this final episode of Gilmore Girls was fairly predictable, it was exactly as I’d hoped it would be. I think it’s most important for shows that become so loved to leave with a bittersweet but happy ending just as this was.

I liked that Lorelai and Luke realized their feelings for each other without a long, drawn out moment of admitting faults and love. For once, though I love their banter, they didn’t need words and just went with what they knew underneath it all was right.

Rory will heal and would have had a hard time leaving Logan if she’d been offered the job traveling with Obama’s campaign while having planned to stay in the relationship with him. I still think it’s sad to see her hurting from love, but all of us fans know Rory as well as her Stars Hollow family does, and we know she will not only survive, but be the better for it.
